Alistair is a powerlifter from Edinburgh who has been training for over 13 years.
He has competed in several powerlifting competitions winning and setting Scottish and British records as a junior lifter in both the junior and open categories.
It was through powerlifting that Alistair developed an interest in exercise going on to complete an HNC/D in Health Fitness and Exercise at college and then continuing on to study Sport and Exercise Science at university. From here, a greater interest developed in the health and rehabilitation aspects of these subjects and Alistair moved on to studying physiotherapy at Queen Margaret University where he will qualify later in 2018.
While studying at Queen Margaret Alistair also became a qualified sports massage therapist and has had a wealth of experience helping people from office workers to high-level athletes recover from a number of issues.
Alistair has also had several years’ experience coaching powerlifting and strength training to novices and athletes alike. Alistair also gained experience working as a physiotherapy assistant at Edinburgh Napier Knights American football team during the 2017/8 season.
